Instructor Danielle Floberg – Voice
Danielle Floberg, Soprano, is a suburban Chicago native, passionate about the art of singing and educating those singers in their own pursuit of the art.
Danielle holds her Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, under the tutelage of some of the opera industry’s most renowned educators. Danielle has had the privilege of studying under teacher Dawn Harris, in addition to such notable educators as Baritone operatic sensation Nathan Gunn, Maestro Eduardo Diazmunoz, and Tenor Jerold Siena, to name a few. A recipient of several vocal achievement awards, including a 1st place honor in the National Association of Singers of Teaching (or NATS) vocal competition, and honorable mention in the prestigious Thomas J. Smith memorial scholarship, Ms. Floberg excelled as a vocalist and performer at Illinois.
A dynamic performer in all arenas, Danielle shines as a performer of the stage. Past favorite roles have included Yum-Yum in Gilbert & Sullivan’s comedic operetta, The Mikado; Polly Potter in the Marx Brothers’ hilarious comedy, The Cocoanuts; and La Princessa in El Gato con Botas.

In addition to her work on the stage, Ms. Floberg is an accomplished recital singer, having been the soloist for the Illinois debut of Angels in the Architecture, a contemporary piece by composer Frank Ticheli. Danielle performs regularly throughout the Chicagoland area, and also serves as a vocalist on her church worship team.

In addition to performing, Ms. Floberg works with singers of all ages to learn the art of singing through the teaching of classical vocal technique, repertoire, and performance. Because of her passion for the vocal arts, and the benefit of learning to “use your instrument,” Danielle has dedicated herself to the cultivation of the singing voice through practice and performance, and wishes to spread this joy and expertise with singers alike.
Ms. Floberg is also an accomplished classical violist and contemporary violinist. She has studied and played strings for nearly 15 years, under the tutelage of violist Karen Summerville. Danielle most regularly serves as the violinist for her church worship team. She currently lives and works in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.
“Danielle is new to Musical Expressions. She took over a full studio for another teacher who is currently pursuing her Doctorate degree in performance. We were a little uneasy about a new teacher, but our worries were absolutely unfounded! Danielle is a very talented and energetic teacher. We are very pleased to have our daughter study with such a great teacher! Musical Expressions did an excellent job engaging a new professional to their teaching staff.” – Sandy H.
