Christopher “Shreddicher” Boetticher comes from a musical family and was greatly influenced by his father and uncle who played guitar. He began taking electric guitar lessons in the sixth grade and continued throughout high school. In 2002, Christopher took classical guitar lessons at The Music Room and then went on to study classical and jazz guitar with Peter Aglinskas and Steve Vazquez at Harper College. He completed a two-year program with core studies in music theory, aural skills, classical/jazz guitar, classical guitar ensemble, and jazz lab band. While at Harper, he played in a Master Class for the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. He currently performs pop/rock originals, covers in a duet ensemble and also performs solo classical guitar at weddings and other private events.
With 20 years playing experience and a diverse background in classical, jazz, metal, blues, flamenco and rock, Christopher’s eclectic skill set appeals to a variety of students. Christopher has five years experience teaching students at beginning and intermediate levels. He’s a great fit for students who desire to learn anything from rock to pop songs, classical guitar finger-picking technique and repertoire, to metal, jazz, and blues, lead guitar improvisation skills.
As a dedicated teacher, Christopher focuses on keeping students engaged and growing in a relaxed atmosphere. He designs custom lesson plans for each student, in which the focus is to develop a confident overall sound by teaching good technique and musicality. Christopher has developed a custom technique program for students looking to learn and master metal skills such as sweeping and tapping arppegios, mode and scale studies on 6, 7 and 8 strings.
