Instructor Antoinette Konow – Voice
Antoinette Konow is a Lyric Soprano who has grown up in the western suburbs of Chicago acting, dancing and singing. Antoinette recently earned her Master’s of Music in voice performance from the University of North Texas and holds a Bachelor of Music in voice performance from Simpson College.
Antoinette’s recent credits include the role of Monica in The Medium with ColorBox Theatre in Chicago and Asheville Lyric Opera’s Young Artist in Asheville North Carolina. Antoinette’s classical roles consist of Gertrude Stein in The Mother of Us All, Sour Angelica in Sour Angelica, Countess in Le nozze di Figaro, Cendrillon in Cendrillon, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Princess Ida in Princess Ida and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus. As a cross over vocalist, Antoinette’s musical theatre roles include Maria in West Side Story, Reno Sweeny in Anything Goes, Lily in The Secret Garden and Belle in Beauty and the Beast.
Antoinette works with students to develop a healthy vocal technique rooted in the classical tradition. This enables singers to explore other musical genres such as musical theater, pop and much more. Not only is Antoinette dedicated to teaching but she is also an active performer. As a performer Antoinette is able to share with her students’ the most up-to-date materials and styles of music. Antoinette’s positive teaching style, coupled with learning to enjoy the process of improvement, encourages students to reach their full potential as singers.
