Amy Dickman – Piano

Amy Dickman brings over 30 years of teaching experience to Musical Expressions. She is a graduate of Peabody Conservatory of Music, and holds both B.M. and M.M. Degrees, in piano performance. Amy teaches all levels of students, from beginners through advanced, including many adults. Many of her students, have gone on to pursue their own careers in music. Students of Amy receive thorough training in theory, technique, ear training, sight-reading, and performance.

Amy DickmanIn addition, students are encouraged to request pieces of any style that they would like to play. The students are delighted to find that they can play the piece they truly love! Amy believes that the skills obtained by musical study can benefit a person’s life in many ways. Her students often do better in school and other endeavors when studying with her; a result of both her encouragement of daily practice and her genuine interest in her students as people.

Amy is a member of the National Music Teachers Association, Illinois State Music Teachers Association. In addition to teaching, Amy is an active accompanist in the Chicago area, playing for both students and professionals.
